Generate Calendar-Entrie by Mail

hi everybody!

i need to insert calender-entries in the calendars of our employees
(exchange-server of course...) out of a content-management-system...
as i like keeping things simple i, thought of adding the entries by mail,
just like outlook seems to handle it himself so that the emploee only has to
accept it.
in other words: i want to create a mail, that outlook "understands"!!!

i took a deep look in the mail-header of such a
outlook-calendar-invitation-mail and tried to copy it, but outlook receives
it my mails not as calender-entries although all header information matches.

is this possible?
what do i have to consider?
is this anywhere documented???

if it is not possible, do i really have to write directly to the exchange
server?
how could _this_ by done?
