getting error Task 'POP3'- sending reported error (0x800CCC0D)

We are trying to send e-mail messages and keep getting error that reads:\
"Task 'POP3' - sending reported error (0x800CCC0D) unable to find the e-mail
server. Please verify the server info in your account properties."
My roommate is trying to send out her resume via Craig's list and she keeps
getting this error.
Please help!
