Graphics link?

Suddenly "Graphics Link" is appearing on my screen when I
attempt to open Word 97 (XP Home OS). We cannot figure
out where this came from. In addition, once 'Graphics
Link' is up, we cannot close it. It is non-responsive to
any close file action. Where did the Graphics Link come
from, and how to get rid of it?

P.S. On the same day I noticed this problem, I loaded
Olympus Camedia 4.1 photoediting software, if there could
be any connection.
