Grey Screen when screen clipping

Helena

Hi, I have recently installed OneNote 2007 and the screen clipping worked
once. Now when I either window key + S, or when I try Insert>Screen Clipping,
the screen just goes grey and a completely balck box is pasted into my
unfiled notes. Any suggestions please - I am running OneNote 2007 with SP1 on
XP with SP2 and the OneNote Icon is present in the tray - many thanks

yes a couple of times, and the same thing happens - I have also run the
office diagnostics tool in One Note that told me no problems or issues were
found...not sure where to go now?

Have just noticed screen clipping works fine if I don't start Internet
Explorer 7 - it is when I try and screen clip from the internet, then the
grey screen problems starts until I do a re boot- anyone else found this?

FYI - the grey screen is normal when using the screen capture function. I
don't think that is part of the problem. The screen will always go grey
when ON is ready for you to drag a rectangle to create the clipping.

I am having the same problem as well. The whole screen is gray and I am
unable to capture anything but a gray box. I have tried repairing office and
i have SP1 but it still doesn't work correctly. Any ideas?

I have been experiencing the same issue. When I try to "screen-clip" my two
monitors go completely opaque-white (as opposed to semi-transparent). It is
impossible to see what I am about to select as a screen-clipping. Then a
black-square is return to ON2007 as a screen-clipping.

I also noticed that when I close particular applications the expected
screen-clipping behavior is returned to normal. This bug appears to be
intermittent as closing a few apps and re-launching them again, or rebooting,
will "sometimes" resolve the issue. I have observed this behavior on two
different PCs (P4 and core 2 duo, 2 and 4GB RAM, two different video cards
with latest drivers, desktop and laptop). This was also an issue with ON2003.

The issue i was having is when I try to take a sceen clipping in Internet
Explorer it would gray out my whole screen. If i try to capture it then it
would just be a black box.

Computer Specs

Windows Vista Business
4 GB ram
core 2 duo
IE7

Here is what i have done to get it working properly:

I preformed a system restore from a week ago (the last time i remembered it
working correctly)
This did indeed work, however i made alot of changes to my computer so that
was not an option. I rolled back the system restore and tried from 3 days
ago. This did solve the problem for me.

I have the same issue. I have two monitors on an NVidia Quadro FX 3400 with
the latest Drivers running under XP Pro x86 SP2.

Clips worked when I first installed but now only works after a reboot until
I launch another program then it fails and all I get is gray screens.

Hello everyone
is this problem solved, yet
I just had the same thing today (OneNote-Clipping used to work fin
since I installed Office 2007 a few weeks ago) and nither restoring th
system to an older restorepoint nor reinstalling IE 7 (which is th
program causing the problem as, without running IE7, the Clipping sitl
works as usual) did the job
For me the following worked (did not reboot the system since !):

- Start OneNot
- Start clippin
- Simultaniously ( the correct white, semi-transparent scree
appearing) I started the IE7 by using a keyboard-shorcu
- Now clipping works again as usual even after restarting OneNote an
IE7. Hope this helps:rolleyes

I have the same problem. Screen clipping was working fine for the pas
couple years, and I use it A LOT!!! (dozen times per day! everyday!) ..
all of sudden (today), when I hit the usual ctrl-s, both my screens g
solid white, and I can't see anything at all (don't know what I'
clipping) vs the semi-transparent light-gray that normally happens.
When I try to clip a random section of the screen, my capture is soli
black.

Is there STILL no resolution to this? Geez Microsoft... get off you
butts

I have the same problem.

What are you referring to?
I can not see a previous posting in my NewsReader.

Actually it's *Win* + S.

Has something been changed with your video card and/or drivers?

Did you try to run a Repair?
How about uninstalling IN and re-installing it after a re-boot?
