Groove management server page hangs

The installation works fine but when I try to open the Groove management
server page at http://localhost/gms/index.htm it shows the 4 progress circles
on top of the screen and hangs there.

I'm running it on a Windows 2003 server (64-bit) and using a SQL 2005
database which is on the same machine. I've checked the IIS settings and they
seem fine according to the README file in the program files folder.

The Application event log of the machine gets an error everytime I try to
load the page:

"
The description for Event ID ( 212 ) in Source ( GrooveManagementServer )
cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry
information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer.
You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see
Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event:
<IID>{7641F71D-1FF6-4E63-BD7A-37617C157E45}</IID><Details Process="w3wp.exe"
HRESULT="0x80040208" EventMessage="An exception was thrown while executing
the stored procedure '(null)'. Exception follows:" PID="3236"
TID="3500" OSMajor="5" OSMinor="2" OSBuild="3790" OS="Win2k3" Date="Tuesday,
April 08, 2008 5:02:23 PM" OSServicePack="Service Pack 2" PreviousMessages="
"
followed by a long piece of XML.

I have written my own little web app in .NET to try connect to the database
and I've run it on the same server so .NET, IIS and SQL seem to be working
fine.

Please assist. Thanks.

a couple of questions to help diagnose your situation -
(1). did you per chance run a registry cleaner (e.g., ccleaner, regseeker,
etc) on the machine after the installation of the Groove servers?
(2). do you also have Microsoft Exchange server components (including OWA)
installed on the same machine?

No to both questions. We installed the x64 server fresh and only .NET and IIS
that I can recall - then Groove.

I have the same problem but looks like Microsoft does not know the answer. I
wish they did cause I need it.
