Grouping All Day Events in Calendar Printing Assistant

I am using CPA to group four calendars. I've created a variant of the "Month
with 2 Day Columns" template to display 8 all-day events -- two per calendar.

The purpose of this arrangement is to schedule the movement of four
instruments. Each instrument will have a macro schedule ("This week it will
be in the Pacific Northwest, next week it will be in the Bay Area"). It will
also have a micro schedule ("On Monday and Tuesday it will be at Company X,
on Wednesday and Thursday it will be at Company Y, on Friday and Saturday it
will be moving from the Pacific Northwest to the Bay Area")

If the macro and micro events cover the same time periods (if I don't wrap
from one week to the next), each instrument is grouped nicely -- two red
bands for Instrument 1, two green bands for Instrument 2, and so on.

However, if the macro and micro events aren't completely aligned (like when
transit time wraps over a weekend), the no longer group by calendar. In
fact, I can't figure out what logic is in play when placing them.

Is there a way to force the template to group each calendar's all-day events?
