HELP: Mouse pointer doesn't react to document elements

I

Ivan Orlov

My mouse pointer doesn't change a shape to a right-pointing arrow,
text cursor, etc if I put it over tables, margins or other
corresponding element. After additional checking I realized that not
only tables but most of the elements in my Word documents behave like
this. Perhaps, somebody already met with it? I'm under MacOS X, MS
Office X.

Thanks, Ivan

Thank you very much. That did it. Great!

Hi Ivan,

I'd start by downloading and installing the service release 10.1.2 for
Office X, the run disk utility and repair permissions.

And what is the fix for the same problem (especially in tables) in
Office 2001 (Word 9.0.1:3122 and Os 9.1) - having already applied SR1?

Hi Stan,

Now you're asking the really HARD question :). There is no fix. In other
words, it's a bug and because it can't be reproduced consistently (and not
everybody even experiences it), MS could never pin it down to fix it. At
this point, even if they could it wouldn't make any difference since they're
not doing any more development or bug fixes (except for security issues) in
Office 2001.

Sorry. I've got it too, so I sympathize.
