Help page is unavailable from Office 2007

I received an error of "This page is unavailable" when I selected F1 or Help
online from any MS Office 2007 application. I can see the offline content
but unable to see online information from Internet.

Please advise.

Probably not anything you can change from within Office, because it is
usually caused by your antivirus or firewall software blocking Word or
Excel or whatever Office application from accessing the internet.

What port is it trying to access Internet? I turned off firewall and
antivirus programs and it made no difference.

Some Anti Virus programs like Norton makes no difference by turning it off. In some cases you will need to uninstall the Anti Virus suite and re-install without the scanning integration,

Which Anti Virus suite are you using

I am using Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0 which is their latest version of
Corporate Anti Virus program. I have no problem getting online Help with
Office 2003 running the same version of Anti Virus program. Office 2003 is
running on Windows XP SP2 inside Virtual PC 2007 with Symantec EndPoint
Protection installed. If I can get online help from Office 2003, I should be
able to get online help from Office 2007. I wonder if this is Office 2007
issue...

Brian.

Hi "garfield":

I guess you are with MS. It seems Brian has the same issue as me. And
obviously it is not a firewall issue.

Not yet. I believe this is a bug from Microsoft. I stopped the entire
AntiVirus and ran the Office 2007 repair did not help.

There is another discussion involving this issue, so we are not alone.
(search unable to connect to microsoft office online)
One issue that was found by microsoft, is related to using languages and
regional setiing other that English US.
My computer is a laptop made in Singapore, which may be one of the reasons.
Where was your computer made?

It sounds weird, but it has worked for me twice.
Go into Internet Explorer, select Tools | Internet Options, and clear your cache and temporary Internet files. Voila. I don't even USE Internet Explorer more than once a month, but this solves the problem.
