help please can't do n e thing say's selection locked!!!

my microsoft word program does not allow me to do any thing everytime i try
typing on a page it say's "This modification is not allowed because the
selection is locked." Can anyone please tell me what it means and how to fix
it pretty please!!!!!

Are you using a Trial version of Office ?
