For the past week, I've been getting the following when trying to access my
hotmail account from Outlook 2007:
Task 'Hotmail: Folder:Inbox Synchronizing headers.' reported error
(0x80040604) : 'A folder by this name already exists.'

I've deleted the account and reinstalled it, but it till comes up with that
error message and I can't get my Hotmail in Outlook.

TIA

Hi

Have you tried configuring your hotmail account in outlook express . Check
if it works if yes import the email account into outlook (Before you do this
delete the exsisting account in outlook ) If it does not work try contacting
MSN.

To move an account from Outlook express to outlook

Open outlook
click file ->import and export
In the import and export wizard select the "Import mail account settings"
option and follow the instructions

I'm running Vista and that has Windows Mail, which doesn't work with http
accounts, unfortunately!

I've also done a full repair to Office and it's still the same. However, if
I delete the hotmail account from Outlook, restart PC, then add the Hotmail
account back, it will pick up the mail. But, if I close Outlook down and
then restart it, the error message about syncronisation and there already
being a folder there comes back.
