how do I hide message formatting information in received emails?

I occasionally receive email messages where the content does not seem to be
decoded properly and I am left with all the junk listed below plus a whole
lot more depending on the size of the original email. In looking through the
info is appears that the info is the MIME encoding information however I am
no expert.

Can anyone explain to me why only some messages I receive look like the
below and the rest are fine?

Thanks in advance.
