How do I import Publisher98 documents to Publisher 2007?

Have produced every document ever needed for my business and personal life
with Publisher 98. Just upgraded to a new computer and decided to try the
new Publisher version by downloading the trial version. Copied my old
98files (documents) onto the new computer and put them into the Publisher
2007 folder. Opened 2007, then tried to open one of my old 98 documents only
to be told that there was not enough memory, which is silly given the new
computer is a zillion times more powerful than the last.

Tried tech support and told that the trial version did not qualify for tech
support, and besides, to transfer these files was a very complicated thing.

Is Publisher 2007 the same animal as Publisher 98, just newer and with more
bells & whistles, or is just a Microsoft product with a similar name? If it
is the same, why can't I open the documents? Is it possible to accomplish
this? I really, really, do not want to have to redo everything on this new
version.
Thanks for everyones help...

Publisher 2007 will open 98 documents. I don't know if there is something in the
trial that prevents the opening of the old files. There is a difference in the
WordArt, but there is a compatibility utility you can download to overcome that
issue.
This download says 2002-03 but I have found it works for 2007 too

Support for opening files from the Publisher 98 beta (which used a
different file format version to the final release of Publisher 98) was
removed in (IIRC) Publisher 2003. Opening the files in Publisher 2000 or
2002 and saving in a new format will normally work around this issue.

I know nothing about a 98 beta...

The issue hasn't come up for quite some time; twas a few years ago when
a user here encountered files from Publisher 98 that wouldn't open in
Publisher 2003 (or 2002, I forget). I escalated the issues and a Softie
let me know of the issue.
