The answer is simple - you can't. You see, when one purchases an upgrade
licence the product they used to qualify for that licence becomes an
inextricable part of said licence. So, for example, if you used Office 97 to
qualify for Office 2000, the Office 97 licence is now part of the Office
2000 licence and may not be sold - or given away - without 2000. If you no
longer have the *ORIGINAL* qualifying product then you may *NOT* continue to
use the upgrade. If the product you used to qualify was OEM, then the
upgrade, in effect, becomes OEM as well as an OEM licence is tied to the
original system (this is certainly true of versions of Office that come
supplied on 'recovery' discs, as the qualifying product has to be installed
for the upgrade to work and a recovery disc won't work on any system other
than the one it was supplied with, it may or may not be true of 'generic'
OEM licences).
If you wish to have Publisher on your current system you will be required to
purchase it again.
