How do I make the background of clipart transparent?

When I place clip art into a Power Point document or an Adobe Acrobat
document it has a white background. How do I get rid of this and make the
background transparent?

You may be able to use the transparancy wand in the picture toolbar. NOTE
this will only work if the background is truly one colour as you can only
make one colour transparent. Some clip art can be ungrouped and white parts
deleted.
