We have public folders that are on our network and I want to add them to my
other calendars listing moving them from a shortcut to the public folder.

I still don't know what you mean by "moving them from a shortcut to the public folder," but to display a public calendar folder in the Calendar navigation pane, you need to display the Folder List and drag the folder to Public Folders\Favorites. It should then show up in the Calendar navigation pane automatically under Other Calendars.
