How do I play xvid in powerpoint

I have a video that plays fine in Windows Media Player, but when I insert it
into a powerpoint presentation I get an error saying "cannot find 'vids:xvid'
decompressor"

The codec is installed because it plays in WMP... any ideas how to get it to
play in powerpoint?
