I have an organization chart that starts with vacant positions containing
shape text that indicates the position is vacant, position title and slot
number. The first box is shape text (red font) which is for a vacant
position. The second shows when a database record for a specific person is
linked indicating a filled position (black font).

Personnel information is maintained in an Access 2007 database. In the event
a person joins the organization and is placed in a vacant slot, their DB
record is then linked to the shape for the position they are filling.
Often times, personnel are moved around, which then makes vacant a
previously filled position. When I unlink their record from the old position,
their data is still displayed in the shape and it does not revert back to the
original shape text. I need specific personnel information to be removed and
the shape to display the "vacant" shape data. How do I do this?
