How do I use a password form to move to a subsite in Frontpage?

I have created a website in Frontpage. The website has multiple subsites,
each intended for a different user/customer. I then have one page in my main
website that contains a single form where one can enter username, password,
and press the submit button.

Ideally, a user would go to the aforementioned page, type in his/her unique
username and password, press the submit button, and then be taken to the
appropriate subsite where his items are kept.

I've had no problem setting up permissions for the subsites; but I just
can't seem to figure out how to get my users to them more directly from the
main site. Right now, I have to tell my users to type in the unique URL for
each subsite, then they are prompted to add their username and password.
This method works, but it's pretty clumsy and I'd like something a bit
smoother.

THANKS!

I guess I don't see a "link" to a password protected subweb as being clumsy.
The way that FP server extensions authenticate to a particular sub web site
is to first know what site that you want to access then supply the
credentials for that site. Otherwise it wouldn't know what site to
authenticate to. So unless your form has a place for the user to put the
subweb that they want to log-on to along with the username/password it would
not authenticate to the subweb.

Thnaks, Jeff Teel; but I guess that it still doesn't get me there.

Ideally, each customer would have his own dedicated subsite with unique
information. I want the customer to be able to type in username and password
(unique to him), then have the main website send him to his unique website.

If I have a link to each website, things will get kind of busy. Not
practical...

Ideal set up: Customer enters user name and password to form in main
website. Form says, "okay, I recognize this user name and password," then
sends customer to his specific subsite.

Can Frontpage do this?

Yes
- but only using hand code server side scripting (ASP or PHP) and a Database (Access or MySQL), depending on your server OS, to
look up the user credentials, authenticate them, and then redirect them to the appropriate subweb

Thanks, Stefan.

Sounds like this is the direction I'm headed in. Where can I find the
proper instructions to do this?

If you don't know any ASP start at http://www.w3schools.com/asp/default.asp
