How to change margins around bullets in list

When I insert a cartoon pic for my bulleted list, they don't line up correctly with the text that is to the right of the bullet. When I click on the bullets (cartoon pic of car) they all have margins and padding that needs to be lessened. As you see below the cars aren't vertically centered to the text at the right. Please help! Thanks.

Since I am on the subject needing help with bulleted lists, I can't figure out how to use individually different bullets for each item. I can't seem to be able to highlight only one bullet in order to change it to a different bullet without changing all the bullets in the list. Thanks!
