How to I add a color to the color pull-down

I just upgraded to Office 2007. In Word 2003 when I clicked the color
pull-down, I got 40 colors to choose from. Pink was second from the bottom
on the left. I've used it in many of my documents and would like to continue
using it.

In Word 2007, when I click the color pull-down I get Theme Colors and
Standard Colors. With the default theme, pink is not listed. I would like
to be able to choose pink from the pull-down. I've found how to get to it
from More Colors. Once I add it, it shows up under Recent Colors. However,
that gets cleared out fairly often.

I've found how to create a custom theme, and make that my default. As I
read about themes, it sounds like these colors are already used for things
and if I change them, it may impact other things. I don't really want to
change the theme (but will if needed).

I would just like to change my Standard Colors, so pink is listed there. Or
make it so Recent Colors always shows up, and pink is listed there. Is there
any way to do this? If not, is there anything closer than creating a custom
theme and then using that in all documents?

Finally, if I need to go the custom theme route, how do I apply that theme
to all of my Word documents? If I set it as my default theme, it will show
up in new documents, but it doesn't seem to effect existing documents.

Thanks for your help!!
