how to remove shape handles

J. Lokerse

The problem i have is i am drawing a detailed network/rack diagram using
shapes from different vendors (HP APC DELL).

One of the shapes from Dell (powervault 112T) has two shape handles on
the bottom corners which glue to the rack shape i have which is useful
when i resize shapes. There are no other handles on the shape.

Example:
------
| |
x------x

An other shape i have from Dell (poweredge 1750) has handles on all
corners. I found out about inward and outward handles after a lot of
googling (http://www.2000trainers.com/article.aspx?articleID=206&page=1).

Example:
x------x
| |
x------x

I would like to alter a shape so that it only has connection points on
the lower left and right corner which glue to a rack shape.

I have visio 2003 and 2007. I'm using 2003 for compatibility with my
colleague's.

Any help would be appreciated.

You will have to open the shapesheet for the shape and edit the
connection points. This will be a bit more complicfated if the shape
is a group in which case you can use the Shape Explorer window
and find the shape with the connection points from there.

If you want to edit the master in the stencil then put the stencil
into edit mode, double click and use the Master Explorer.

It could be that the Dell Poweredge is a 2D shape.
With it selected, Format \ Behavior - change it to 1D, then open its
ShapeSheet and change the LocPinY formula to =Height*0
