Hyperlinks in Word document

HELP!!!! I've created a rather extensive manual for our office. To make it
more simple, I've condensed the main document and included a number of
hyperlinks to other documents, internet sites and intranet sites. I'd like
to protect the document so it cannot be altered or links deleted. I've read
a number of threads regarding forms with menus and drop downs, etc. This is
NOT a form. Is there any way to protect this document while keeping the
hyperlinks enabled?

I thought of that, but the instructions I found for read-only is that they
are not REQUIRED to open the document as read-only and I would prefer they
have no choice.
In any case, I was able to find some simple instructions on making they
hyperlinks macros that will open when double-clicked in a protected document,
so I've already fixed it.
Thank you for responding.
