I cant change my navigation bar!!!

I have been working on an ecommerce site using publisher, & need to add
another product catalog page. I cannot modify the navigation bar to show
this new page in any way - the navigation bar properties menu wont even come
up! I really would hate to have to add the new page manually, so does anyone
have any suggestions as to what might be stopping me???
