i have lost some of my sent items in outlook express

I have somehow lost all sent emails from yesterday back to 9th October 2008.
I noticed in the recycle bin there was a sent.bak file dated yesterday which
was a big file. I click restore and it has gone but the emails have not
returned to the sent item folder. Can anyone help as I am really lost without
all these emails. Thanks Gary

Several things:

This is not an Outlook Express newsgroup.

Back up, as you just learned, is a computer user's best friend.

You've probably lost the emails.

I would suggest that you stop using Outlook Express and use Thunderbird
which is free and can be obtained at http://www.mozilla.com/thunderbird.
It's MUCH easier to back up than OE and will be continued to be
supported, unlike Outlook Express which Microsoft has discontinued
support. Not only is it easier to back up but it comes with a real time
spell checker and an excellent junk filter.
