Importing XML File: Project modifications

I'm trying to import a xml file generated by my application into MS Project.
I can open the file sucessfully, but it seems Project makes some
modifications on the file automattically.

Some are easy to understand, like changing a task date to start after
another task it depends on, but some modifications I just can't understand,
like changing the Constraint Type on some tasks. I export them as "Must Start
On", and project changes it to "Don't finish before".

Is there any documentation about this changes, or even better, a tool that
validates my xml and show me what problems I have on it?

There are some known issues with XML import into project. I think the latest
service pack has fixes for some of them.
I don't think there is any documentation on those issues except what was
released in the service pack and I know of no tool which will work around
those issues other than the service pack.

Best is to save a project xml format and then use it as your template.
Delete parts not relevant to you and make sure the file still imports
correctly.

What version of Project? 2003 has quite a few xml problems and make sure you
install SP2 for Project 2007.

I've done that, that sure help me with the XMl Format. The problem now is to
understand how project treats the XML while importing.

I'll install SP2 and see it some of the problems are over.

Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the help, I've installed SP2 for office, and it seems some
problema were fixed, like the calendar. Before, the nonworking days beeing
exported weren't recognized by project, now they are.

But I'm having some diferent problems now. Project seems to be ignoring my
activities hierarchical structure. I'm exporting the tags "OutlineNumber" and
"OutlineLevel", and before Service Pack 2 it was working fine, the activities
were idented correctly. After Service Pack 2, all activities are in the same
level. I've tried to export the WBS tag, but it generates an error when
opening the file.
