Insert Picture Path/Name

MS Word 2000

Sorry if these are obvious and I hope, easily answered
questions.

I have a .doc file with many images. I produced these
images with the Print Screen button. I print a screen and
then crop it in MS Paintbrush. I save the cropped image as
a .bmp file.

I select Insert, Picture, From File in the MS Word .doc
file. I browse to the .bmp file and click Insert.

How can I determine the path/name of the .bmp file I
inserted into the MS Word .doc file? I have read about
Alt F9 but if that shows anything it only shows {EMBEDED
PBRUSH}. Does the path to the .bmp file change if I copy
the .doc file to another folder?

Thanks!

If you embed a picture it becomes part of the document and does not retain
any link to the source file. To retain a link to the source, use the
INCLUDEPICTURE field (Insert>Field).

Sorry Chad, I cannot make Insert Field

MS Word Help says to use a string like this

INCLUDEPICTURE "d:\\IMAGE015.BMP"

But I get no image in the .doc file.

Thanks,

In Word 97, that option was a checkbox. All this time since I upgraded to
2000, I have thought that MS screwed up the interface because the checkbox
was gone. After reading your post, I decided to double-check myself, and
finally stumbled upon the drop-down that lets you select 'Link to File' or
'Insert and Link' instead of just 'Insert'. Feel a fool but many thanks for
tuning me in to that.

Regards,
Chad
