insert project as read-only

Hello all,
I am trying to insert a project into a master plan by Insert – Project…
When I select an enterprise project and click on the insert list I can’t see
the
option “insert as read-only†there is justâ€insertâ€.
Is there any option to hide-show this feature?
How can I save a sub plan into project server as read-only?
I use Project Pro 2007 SP1 with last updates and hotfix
And project server 2007 SP1 with feb hotfix

Regards

In the Insert Project dialog, click the drop down arrow on the Insert button
and you will see the choice, Insert Read-Only. Hope this helps

thank you Dale
when i click the drop down arrow i have only one option in the list which is
"Insert".
i see "Insert Read-only" only when i insert project from my local PC
but if i choose enterprise project, the read-only option disappears.!!
is this feature available in the enterprise projects?
if no, why?
if yes, why i cant see it?

I stand corrected. I apologize for giving you the info used with desktop
projects only. When connected to Project Server from Project Professional
2007, and when I click Insert - Project, the Insert Project dialog shows
Read/Write and Read-Only options immediately below the list of projects. Do
you not see these two options in the dialog? Let us know.

"It is the same if I choose any of them..." What do you mean by that? Are
you saying that if you insert a subproject Read-Only, the software does not
insert it this way? If so, how do you know? If you float your mouse
pointer over the indicator for the subproject in the Gantt Chart view, the
system should so you that the project is inserted Read-Only. Let us know.

I am sorry that I can’t make myself clear,
When I insert an Enterprise Project there are read/write and read only
modes, and there is only insert –not insert read only-,
Now when I chose the read only mode and insert a project, I still can edit
this inserted project and save the changes.
But I want to insert the project as read only so that I can’t make any
changes,
if there is any other way to do this please let me know
I hope that I made myself clear this time.
Thanks and regards

You are doing it correctly my friend. You can save the master project, but
the system should not allow you to save the Read-Only project. Beyond this,
I'm not sure I can help you much more. Sorry.
