insert text within shape and rotate?

Using Office 2007
I inserted shape (exposion2) into word document and rotated slightly. I
want to be able to insert text so it's on same axis.
When i simply inserted text within shape, it wasn't wide enough and it
wouldn't rotate within the shape on same axis. I fooled with margins but
couldn't get it to fit within size and width of shape. (i did have resize
autoshape to fit text)
I tried inserting text within a text box and moving over the shape but it
won't rotate.
I tried inserting word art into a text box and moving over top of shape to
rotate but that didn't work either.
I then tried to group the text over the shape so it's at same axis (angle).
I tried to drag and drop both explosion shape and then text into draw canvas
to group but that didn't work either and still can't figure out how to get
text to rotate like the shape?
I spent over an hour looking up in help and still couldn't find anything??

create your text using word art then right click on it and then left click
format word art and select in front of text. Then you can rotate it and move
it and size it to fit over your explosion. Then select both objects and
group them and they will then rotate together. They do not scale together
however. So be sure to scale them first, then group, then rotate together.
