Internet Explorer - Access 2002

tsv

I use IE 6.0 SP1 and Office XP sp-2.
When i try to open an MS Access database (.mdb) on a local
intranet I get the following error message, after MS
Access is started. "MS Access cannot open this file. The
file is located outside your intranet or on an untrusted
site......"
I found and have read an Technet article KB303650 without
any luck.
I've done exactly what the article tells me to do but the
same is the same.
Does anyone have any ideas
Thanks

Terje:

Actually, the article that you should have reveiwed is KB article: 810582

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;810582

Where it explicitly states that:

"Access is not designed to open a database by using a URL address".

Your only options are to 1.) download the file, 2.) use a direct server file
path (e.g. \\someMachine\someshare\somedir\someDb.mdb) or create a mapped
directory to the server share.
