Is FrontPage Where To begin?

Melissa

HI there

I am currently studing MsOffice - (excel, access, word) I am now interested to
learn WebDesign.

Would MsFrontPage be a good place to start? Or do I need to do any
programming courses first?

Is it necessary to also learn programs like Dreamweaver? or can you become a
webdesigner using only Frontpage?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Thank you Kindly

Melissa

I would start with learning HTML and CSS. To begin, see the tutorials at
http://www.w3schools.com Eventually you may also need to learn a server
side scripting language or technology, but HTML and CSS are essential.

With some HTML and CSS knowledge, start web design with Expression Web - A
trial for Expression Web is available from
http://www.microsoft.com/expression/products/Overview.aspx?key=web

IMPORTANT: Do not forget the product key obtainable from a link on the
download page.

FrontPage has a heavy bias towards Internet Explorer, whereas Expression
Web is designed to produce standards compliant web sites that are usually
work cross browser. Dreamweaver has a much higher learning curve than EW.

All these web editors are just tools you can use - there is also notepad.
Some tools are better for some things than others, for example FrontPage is
not good for asp.NET designs, Dreamweaver is better for asp, and EW is best
for asp.NET (personal opinions -other users may vary).
