Is Office 2000 compatable with Windows 7

Just wondering if Office 2000 is compatable with Windows 7? I am thinking of
purchasing a new laptop that runs Windows 7 and I have Office 2000 that the
kids use for various things (word excel etc). I don't really want to
purchase any new office products yet, no need for it so was wondering if I
could load 2000 straight onto Windows 7. Thanks for your help.

You can try but there are no guarantees. Office 2000 was developed in 1999
and Windows 2007 in 2008. 10 years of development between the two leaves a
lot of room for problems.

If you don't want to purchase Office, then try Open Office.
