I created a schedule to send/receive every 7 minutes. I think very cool feature. but now I see more freeze ups and beachballs with Entourage.
I guess this is nature of beast? If so. I may abandon this. thanks.

Seven minutes is actually a pretty short schedule. Try every 20 or 30
minutes and see if it works better. You'll still get your new mail ON
AVERAGE within 10 or 15 minutes of when it's sent. Email is not really
intended to be more timely than that.

Thanks Ed, it was origninally created for a webhoster that has a 10 minute rule. If you don't do a send/receive every 10 minutes you get an error message. I "think" we have solved that, but now I kind of like this feature.

Question, do you think these freeze ups could be caused by the 4 IMAP accounts I have set up on live sync? Maybe that's the culprit, if so, what to do? big nuisance.

I have no idea if LiveSync is causing the problem. I don't use LiveSync on
any of my IMAP accounts and they work fine. I use a 30 minute Send/Receive
schedule for most of my accounts, and a four hour schedule on accounts that
rarely get mail.

You do know that you can have multiple send/receive schedules with different
accounts and timings on each one, don't you?

Ed,
thanks,
I'm new to IMAP, but I noticed I was not gettting an indication (Bold text), when new emails came in -- very important feature.
Someone suggested checking live sync. That solved it.

I'ts only been two days, but freezing problem seems to have vanished by getting rid of send/receive for all every 7 minutes.

If this is the culprit, (I'll wait a few more days), then I redo it at 20 minutes as I like the feature.

When using Live Sync, you probably don't need to use a scheduled
Send/Receive.

See what happens if you remove your IMAP accounts that are using Live
Sync from the Send/Receive schedule. Go to Tools --> Accounts... and
double-click on one of your IMAP accounts. UNcheck the box at the top:

Include this account in my "Send & Receive All" schedule"

Send a test message to your accounts to ensure you're still receiving
messages within a few seconds of your server receiving them.

Hope this helps!
