Keyboard shorcuts for accented letters

I want to use keyboard shortcuts for the accented letters in Irish language
(á, é, í, ó, ú) (called "fada" in Irish meaning "long" as they give the
letter a long sound), for typing documents in Office Word 2007 and emails in
Office Outlook 2007.

The Ctrl Alt functions with most of these letters already have other
functions, but I want to change these to "fadas".

Microsoft Office Word 2007
Ctrl Alt A á, this one is already working as I want it in both Word and
Outlook
Ctrl Alt E € (Euro symbol), I want to use it for é
Ctrl Alt I This Changes to Print Preview, I want to use it for í
Ctrl Alt O Changes to Outline View, I want to use it for ó
Ctrl Alt U this does not do anything, I want to use it for ú

Microsoft Office Outlook 2007
Ctrl Alt A á, this one is already working as I want it in both Word and
Outlook
Ctrl Alt E € (Euro symbol), I want to use it for é
Ctrl Alt I This Changes to Print Preview, I want to use it for í
Ctrl Alt O ó, this one is already working as I want it in Outlook
Ctrl Alt U ú, this one is already working as I want it in Outlook

For the Euro symbol, I do not need to keep Ctrl Alt E, because Ctrl Alt 4
is also working for this function in both Word and Outlook.

I can get these accented letters from the "Symbol" button on the "Insert"
menu,
but I would prefer to be able to use the "Ctrl Alt" keyboard shortcuts.

Many thank for any assistance with this problem.

Click the Insert > Symbol button and choose "More Symbols" from the bottom of
the menu. In the dialog, select an accented letter and click the Shortcut Key
button. In the next dialog, click in the "Press new shortcut key" box, press the
Ctrl+Alt+letter combination you want, and click the Assign button. Repeat for
each of the letters.

You'll have to do all of this again in Outlook, because it stores the shortcuts
in a different template (NormalEmail.dotm as opposed to Word's Normal.dotm).

Many thanks for prompt helpful response. I have now done this successfully
for Word, and I will do the same for Outlook later. I noticed that there
were already shortcuts assigned for the letters I wanted {Press CTRL + '
(Apostrophe) before typing the letter} but it will be more convenient for me
to use CTRL + ALT.
