Large Fonts in Outlook 2003

My Outlook 2003 Email program has just developed a error in the NEW mail field.
When I attempt to write a new mail or reply to an existing, the fonts in the
document area are very large (appx 34 ) I have all settings that i can find
set at 10 however when writing in the document area the fonts are huge.
When I have completed the document and sent it the recipient receives it in
normal 10 point size.
If I am reading mail the size also is normal.
Is there an easy fix for this issue?

Are you using Word as your ditor and, if so, do you have the zoom set to
larger than 100%?

Yes this was the solution, to add further I have a new keyboard with a scroll
button on it that is not programmed to do anything, it appears thtat when
this "scroll" is touched it automatically increases the zoom feature on
whatever program you are running at the time.
Thank you for giving us the heads up hope it helps some one else.

If you go into Keyboard Properties you can program or disable that Zoom
button. If it is a MS Keyboard, make sure you have the latest Intellitype
software.

I know this is an old subject, but I am having this problem with the large
fonts. Just started today. Word is the program that my Outlook uses and I
changed the zoom from 100% to 75% and then smaller with out any change in the
font size.
Let me tell you what happened today. Today was the third time that the
"scroll" went up and down without me doing anything. I was rebooting and
closing programs to try to get it to stop scrolling. I scanned my computer
for viruses to make that was not causing it. So when I was in Outlook and
clicked on reply and was trying to type a response the email was scroling up
and down out of control I then clicked on ctrl + z to try to undo what I had
typed and all of a sudden my fonts got real big. I tried to reduce them
without success so I just closed outlook. I reopened outlook and try
replying and the fonts are real large all the time now. The original email
is the correct font size. When I click on "new" it still give me real large
fonts. I have tried everything I know to try without sucess.
Can anyone help me please???
Thanks,
Peggy

I believe your text input area is zoomed.

Outlook 2003: In any "New Message" window click on View -> Zoom. Set to
100%. It's there somewhere in the menus of this form if you can't find
it easily. office.microsoft.com is down for me at the moment so I can't
check my references.

Outlook 2007: In any "New Message" window type some text, click on the
"Format Text" ribbon, then click on Zoom. Set to 100%

Another way is to hold down the Ctrl key and use the mouse wheel to
adjust the zoom setting.

That's probably what caused this for you in the first place. When you
hit the Ctrl key to hit Ctrl-Z while your screen was scrolling
uncontrollably, your mouse was in the scroll wheel mode and thus
triggered the zoom-in shortcut.

These steps will resolve your problem.

Oh, bless you!! I was not going into the "new message" to do it and that is
why it was not working for me. Yes, it was set at 200%. Now it is fixed.
Thank you so much.
Now if I could get my printer fixed so it will print from my computer. Sigh

Well, I know of a computer expert who can help with that remotely. ;)

Printers are easy. Is it a USB printer? Download its drivers from the
manufacturer's website, unplug the printer, install the drivers, plugin
the printer when instructed. Done.

Go to control panel -> printers and choose the new printer as the
default printer.

It is strange because it stopped working printing from the computer and I
don't why. The printer has been hooked up with a wireless network for a few
years. And all of a sudden it will not print from my computer or the laptop.
I was troubleshooting it and some how it started working again just for a
few days. Then it stopped again. It seems to have a mind of its own.
It copies and faxes ok, but won't print from the computers.
My husband set the wireless up and now we are separated. I asked him what
the network name is and he doesn't remember. I asked him that because the
setup asked for it.
I have unplugged everything, I have tried reloading the software, I have
repeatedly rebooted the computers and it still won't print from the computers.
I am willing to call you or your friend to help me get it running if needed.
I will pay you or your friend for help in finding out why it keeps doing
this.
Thanks,
Peggy

I have been on chat with HP all afternoon. STill not working. They said I
have to find out my SSID. I put a call into Belkin and I guess they don't
work on Saturday. So hopefully they will call me back on Monday.
Thanks for listening and for all your help.
