I have configured my LDAP for Entourage, it returns the message, An unknown
error (-17768) occurred. What should I look for?

Hi Stuart!

You're not providing much information about your setup or what you've
tried. I'm assuming this is for an Exchange account that your company
hosts on its own servers rather than outsourcing to a hosting service
and that you're trying to set this up while on your company network. I'm
also assuming you're leaving the search base blank unless otherwise
instructed by your IT group to use something unique.

A quick search on Google finds this:

"Thank you both for your replies. I kept digging into this. My IT staff
insisted that LDAP lookups were enabled on 389 (as you would think), but
that wasn't good enough for me. I ran network utility against the server
and saw port 3268 open for global catalog searches. I put that in as an
alternate port and the problem went away. I'm not sure why i need to do
a GC lookup instead of an LDAP lookup (especially when both ports are
open and responding on the directory server) but whatever. It's working
now."

Hope this helps!
