Little "Fix & Repair" Cause Big Problem with Office 2003

I wanted to see if "Fix and Repair" would help me stop outlook.exe from
running in task manager even after I closed the program. So I opened my
Outlook 2003 on my Windows XP with SP3. I chose Help, Fix and Repair. Then,
the Windows Installer pop up said I was trying to use a network resource that
is not available. It is looking for STD11N.msi. I don't seem to have that
on my computer when I searched for it. I did find a STD11N.XML on my
software disc for Office 2003 Student and Teacher Edition.

But I think some of the problem is that when I did the security updates and
had problems, Microsoft Tech support instructed me to reinstall all of Office
I think. And when I did reinstall, I did not use my discs. They sent me
download links I think. (Hard to remember as it has been awhile since I had
that problem.) Now when I ltry to open Outlook it launches the Windows
Installer and is looking for MSI. Even if I wanted to reinstall it won't let
me look any other extension like the xml. But then I don't know if I should
uninstall and reinstall --(oh dread, will I loose all my emails, and have to
get updates for last 5 years?) I haven't "shut down" the computer. Will
that give me a chance to fix it? I have a "My Book" backup, but I think it's
just data and not the software. I thought of restore, but I'm afraid. I am
not sure when my last "restore point" was made. I will add that my other
Office products simulaneously launch the installer and open at the same time!
I'm not sure if that's the trial package that was on the pc when I bought it
or what!? These are some of the event logs:

There are others, but I am not sure that this is helpful at this point.

When I use the control panel\Add Remove Programs\ the office program in the
list said it was not used since 2004. I think that must be the trial
edition. But then again there are a dozen updates in the list too. I don't
know what I'm looking at.

Can anyone hellp me figure this out? Thank you so very much.

Connie
ps. I would welcome the "original" problem at this point! LOL
