Marking copy of sent message as unread in Outlook 2007

Tem

I have seen several post about this issue, but no answer. Hope someone's
finally figured it out.

I use the following rule for messages I send to several addressees:
Apply this rule after I send the message
sent to XXX
and on this machine only
move a copy to the XXXX folder
and stop processing more rules.

The message is copied to the new folder, but it is marked as unread and I
must manually go to the folder and mark the message as read (or open it, then
close it). How can I modify the rule to have the copy automatically marked
unread, so that I do not get an alert and unread message count. Thanks.

Unfortunately that is how it works when applying rules to sent messages.
You can try disabling to the option to save all sent messages and use rules
to save them - the last sent rule will apply to all messages and save them
to the sent folder. It may not mark them unread if the one you move is the
only copy.
