Search project help for project specifications. Project 2007 suggests
400,000 Tasks. Project 2010 hasn't released how many, but the 64 bit version
promises to make larger schedules run faster.

However, realistically, I would be splitting any schedule with more than
1000 tasks up into sub-projects purely to avoid brain damage trying to keep
track of what is where!
