Merging Progress Bar back into Main Window (2008 Web ServicesEdition)

I have been having some network problems with my Exchange server that
resulted in a lot of updating. I wanted to get a better picture of
what was being updated and the little progress indicator on the lower
right hand corner of the Main Window wasn't showing me enough
information.

I right-clicked on the progress indicator and it opened-up as it's own
window. That was great for the moment. Now my question is:

How do I merge the progress bar back into the main window?

Thank you in advance.

Just close the Progress window. The lower right corner will take over
showing the progress there.

Hope this helps!

I'm not sure I understand. The Progress window has always been separate from
the Main window. Can you post a screenshot?

You can post a screenshot link using a service like ImageShack. ImageShack
is an easy-to-use free media hosting service. It can be used to upload
images. Registration is not required in order to upload files.

How To Post Screen Shots To Newsgroups

1. On your keyboard, press Command-Shift-4.
2. On your keyboard, press the space bar.
3. Click the window you want. A picture file will appear on the desktop.
4. Go to http://imageshack.us/.
5. Click Browse, then navigate to and select the picture file.
6. Click "host it!".
7. Paste the "Show image to friends" URL in a newsgroup message.

Hi Tom,

the progress bar is usually in the lower right corner of the status bar, but
it disappears if you open it in a window of its own, via Window>Progress or
the shortcut Cmd+7. If you close the Progress window, the progress bar will
show again in the status bar.

Michel, thank you for following-up. Unfortunately when I close the
progress window, it just disappears and I don't get it back as a small
status bar.

If I minimize the progress window and then do a Send and Receive, I
get a fatal error message every time and have to restart Entourage.

I'm realizing that you're using Exchange, which doesn't use schedules.
You shouldn't see anything there unless something is
sending/receiving/checking. If you close the Progress window, do you see
anything when Entourage is checking your server?

I'm not reproducing this. You may have Database corruption. Launch
Entourage with the Option key held down and Verify your Database.

Hope this helps!

Michel, thank you for following-up. Unfortunately when I close the
progress window, it just disappears and I don't get it back as a small
status bar.

I suspect that this is database corruption. If you have only an Exchange
account, I suggest rather than rebuilding, that you create a new Identity in
Entourage and let it sync back up.

You could do a quick test by creating a new Identity and when it starts
syncing if the progress indicator is not showing up, you can abort the sync.
If this is the case, it's most likely a problem in your User's folder. Most
likely culprit would be a Microsoft preference file.

Thanks for the screen shot that did help.
