Messages not decoded correctly

Dave Bolt

I have a situation with at least two machines running Outlook 2007 against
Exchange Server.
A small number of messages are not being decoded correctly when Outlook
receives them so they can not be read properly.
If the message is re-sent from the originator, it is usually OK.
The received messages contain the mime information, e.g.
This is a multi-part message in MIME format.
------_=_NextPart_001_01C9D24C.74CCA6DC
Content-Type: multipart/alternative;
boundary="----_=_NextPart_002_01C9D24C.74CCA6DC"

And the raw mime encoding. This is not a problem for short messages, but
when they include attachments the result is not legible.

Any clues?
Thanks
Dave

The most common cause of this is having your antivirus program integrated with
Outlook so that it scans incoming mail. To toubleshoot this problem,
uninstall your AV program and reinstall it without any mail scanning. You
will still be just as safe.

Thanks Brian.
I am looking into this, although it's a bit slow because the problem is at a
remote site.

Dave
