Microsoft Office Professional 2003 activation

I currently have MSOffice Pro 2003 installed on my HP laptop. The battery and
the AC adapter have both died and instead of buying a replacement battery and
adapter, I have decided to buy a Dell laptop since it will be elgible for the
Express Upgrade. My question is, is it possible to uninstall the MSOffice Pro
2003 from my HP laptop and then install it on the Dell Laptop without having
to buy a second licence by using the same activation code that I was provided
with the cd's or will I have to buy a second license? I'm going to wait a
while before I get Office 2007.

Thanks
Jeff

It all depends on whether your Office Professional 2003 was purchased at retail or if it came with your computer. If the former, you can install it on the new laptop without problem. If the latter, the license is tied to the HP laptop and lives and dies with that laptop.

I bought the MSoffice Pro from my school through the book/computer store. I
know its an authorized dealer of Microsoft products. So does this mean that I
can take the license from the HP and transfer it to the Dell laptop?

Purchasing it separately from the computer is all that is required to qualify as a retail purchase. However, read your End User License Agreement for specifics.
