Microsoft Office Professional 2007 Trial setup did not complete successfully

I recall having a similar issue with beta installation and I fear that
some utility software that I was using to 'repair' the registry may
have corrupted something that prevents Office 2007 from installing
properly.

After entering the trial key code, a few seconds later I get the error
message. I've opened up the log that I've submitted to Microsoft and
the last few lines have the following error messages. I'm hoping
someone can provide a solution to this problem because I fear something
like this may happen along the road during Office 2k7 deployments.

Thanks! Happy New Year!
Mike

did you install this on the same pc as the beta? Be sure to remove all beta
components before installing the retail trial.

No Beta was installed prior, althought I did have Office 2k3 installed
-- I removed everything but Frontpage 2k3. Same results.

Gyorgy,

Being that the trial copy of 2007 downloaded directly from Microsoft
does not install properly for me, is it safe to assume that a retail
licensed copy or upgrade will not install for me as well?

I am re-installing Office 2k3 on my notebook right now with no
problems.

Thanks,
Mike

Confirmed that actual licensed copy of Office 2007 will not install
properly on my system. Still no solution, and I do not want to
re-install windows.

Hi Mike,

Not much to go on in that <g>. Was this related to the 3rd party registry 'repair' product you mentioned earlier?

What error message are you getting and what are in the log files (Start=>Run %temp% ) ?

Bob, I get the same thing posted in my first post with reference to
registry keys missing. I actually undid all the 'registry changes'
using the undo function but that did not change anything.
