Microsoft Office Professional XP Invalid Product Key

E

Ernie

I tried to open MSWord today and instead it said that I had to insert my MSOffice Pro XP CD to install Frontpage. I checked the MSWord shortcut and found that for some reason the shortcut was linked to Frontpage (which is not installed on my computer) and that MSWord had disappeared. The day before MSWord was working fine. MSExcel and MSPowerpoint are were still working properly. I also have MSOneNote installed and MS Office Media.

I tried to do a repair and reinstall with my MSOffice Pro XP disc but it kept on saying I entered an invalid Product Key. I've done this atleast 10 times and I'm sure I've entered the correct key. I searched on the Microsoft website for solutions, tried uninstalling MSOffice, MSOffice Media and MSOneNote. I still cannot reinstall MSOffice. Still the same problem with the Product Key.

I've looked at the /Temp for log files of the setup attempts but cannot find any of them. Infact when I enter the /Temp folder there is not a single file.

Any help would be much appreciated as I need to use the Office programs asap.

Thanks,

Ernie
