Microsoft should design physician office practice management sofo.

I am a medical doctor in private practice. I am looking for a computer
software to streamline my office operations such as billing, scheduling,
electronic medical records, etc, etc. Even though there are hundreds or
maybe thousands of vendors selling various software in a hodgepodge fashion,
mostly from tiny operations without established reputation, very few are
completely integrated to handle all facets of medical office operations. Out
of approximately two million physicians in the U.S., there are many who still
not even computerized at all, not because they are unaware of the benefit of
computers or don't want to, but because they are paralyzed by indecision and
confusion as to which of these expensive software would deliver the
performance as promised. Even those physicians who are computerized, they
usally ony use computer for billing purpose only, leaving a large portion of
the office operation still being performed manually.

It would be worthwhile for Microsoft to look into this potental market and
get into it. Perhaps not building from the ground up but by acquiring a firm
in this field and put the enormous resources of Microsoft behind it to create
a more standardized product that will allow interoperability. This will also
help Microsoft widen its user base of Tablet PC plateform which I think is
perfectly suited for entering data by a physician who is constantly moving
from room to room and patient to patient.(a smaller form factor Tablet PC,
the size of a paperback novel that can be carried in a doctor's "white coat"
pocket rather than the current form factor of laptop pc size would be even
more optimal.)

I wish this dream will soon become a reality.
