missing extend.dat

-- I recently had a ton of spyware removed from my computer now I can't open
Outlook 2007. The error message I get is that "an extension failed to
inilialize. Cannot open file: extend.dat. The file may not exist, you may not
have permission to open it, or it may be open in another program." As far as
I can tell I have the permissions set correctly. I've used the Office Tools
Diagnostics and they all come back fine. I've tried the System Restore but
that didn't do anything. I can not find ths file anywhere on my computer
either. Can someone help me out?

Exit Outlook, delete extend.dat, or rename it to extend.old, and let
Outlook create a new extend.dat.

I can't find the file, I just spent 1 hour searching every file on here and
it came up with nothing. Other posts have suggested going into the folder
labeled c:\users\name\appdata\local\microsoft\outlook\outlook.pst But I can't
access that file. I can find it but I can't open it. Any other suggestions?
