Missing Picture elements from Master

PPT v 2002 SP3 on Win XP SP2

Hi,

I was going along just fine and save a ppt. I then renamed it using File
Explorer and re-opened it later only to find out that I can no longer see
the Logos, pictures, etc., which are all part of the slide masters and
designs.

Insteadm I am only seeing small characters with the name of the picture
like "pic1", "pic2", etc.

I have no idea if renaming the file has anything to do with it--I doubt
it.

If I choose "Slide Show" and also in the Slide Preview pane on the left,
I can see the slides with the proper design and logos, etc.

Any help troubleshooting?

I did further research and something caught my attention: lack of
resources.

I closed out many apps that were opened, and the slides displayed
normally again.
