Moving Project Server to MOSS Project Server

Simon

I installed Project Server using the Standard Project Server 2007 install on
the CD (on Server A). Everything works as expected.

We would now like to move Project Server 2007 to our MOSS 2007 environment
(Server B). I have installed Project Server 2007 on our MOSS environment and
created a PWA site successfully. This is the table version.
00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000 - 12.0.6218.1000
B6970310-CE67-4434-ABCC-C67751412A37 - 12.1.104.0

Once I confirmed that project server was working on the MOSS environment I
tried to move PS 2007 to MOSS/PS 2007.
I moved the Databases associated with Server A to the SQL database
associated with Server B.

I created a new PWA site on MOSS and specified the databases names of the
database I moved. Project Server successfully created the new PWA site and
all the data appears to be on the new MOSS -PWA site.

When I select “My Timesheetsâ€
(http://myServer/pwa/_layouts/pwa/timesheet/mytssummary.aspx )
and select “Click to Create†I get an error stating (An unexpected error has
occurred: Web parts maintenance page: If you have permissions, you can use
this page to temporarily close web parts or remove personal settings. for
more information contact your administrator.)

I removed the timesheet Web part from the page. Then I tried to add it
again, but I get this error. “There are no other webparts on the pageâ€.
Error: Unable to add selected web part(s): My TimeSheet - The operation
could not be completed because the Web Part is not on this page

This is the data from the Versions table for the database I’m trying to move
to MOSS
00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000 - 12.0.6218.1000
00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000 - 12.0.6318.5000
00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000 - 12.0.6341.5002
B6970310-CE67-4434-ABCC-C67751412A37 - 12.1.158.0

I’m thinking that the Timesheets web part by be due to a patch that has not
been updated on the MOSS server or it’s expecting a different version. What
do I need to install to bring the table version in synch?
On server A, I have installed the following updates:

2 - The 2007 Microsoft Office Servers Service Pack 1
officeserver2007sp1-kb936984-x86-fullfile-en-us.exe
5 - FEB 2009 CU 1 - wss-kb961755-fullfile-x86-glb.exe
6 - FEB 2009 CU 2 - office-kb961756-fullfile-x86-glb.exe

On server B (MOSS Server), I have installed the following updates:
1 - Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Service Pack 1
wssv3sp1-kb936988-x86-fullfile-en-us.exe
2 - The 2007 Microsoft Office Servers Service Pack 1
officeserver2007sp1-kb936984-x86-fullfile-en-us.exe
3 - Infrastructure Update for Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 -x86.exe
4 - Infrastructure Update for Microsoft Office Servers -x86.exe
5 - FEB 2009 CU 1 - wss-kb961755-fullfile-x86-glb.exe
6 - FEB 2009 CU 2 - office-kb961756-fullfile-x86-glb.exe

Thanks for your assistance.

If you installed infrastructure/cumulative updates on the server B BEFORE
Project Server application service was runing on it, then the CU/Infra patch
would not patch Project Server components (as there is nothing to patch). It
would have patched the rest of the Office Servers in your MOSS environment.
So you may need to re-run Project Server patch related to the specific latest
CU/Infrastructure update on the server B. An example would be - if you ran
MOSS Dec 08 CU, then you deployed project server on, you would need to run
Project Server patch described in KB960313. Alternatively, just bring ALL
components on the server B 'in line' by runing the latest CU on WSS
3.0/MOSS/Project Server and dont forget to patch you clients as well).

Have a look at:
http://blogs.msdn.com/brismith/arch...2007-cumulative-update-for-february-2009.aspx

And: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/968271

Verify your Project Server (app, que and event handlers) DLL versions
described in the Project Server patch as well as correlating database
versions.

Vaso
