MS Project 2007 uses

Good Day,

I am looking for a software product that will help me "track" approximately
75 projects. Each of the projects has deadlines and milestones etc.
Essentially, the tracking of the projects is my project. I had used MS
Project 2000 some time ago so it was the first thing to come to mind. (e.g.,
each task would be a project and subtasks would be the data for each project
etc.)

Will Project 2007 work for this type of project (i.e., tracking multiple
independent projects)? The first obstacle I can think of is that most of the
tasks/projects are independent of the others. Will Project 2007 allow me to
keep them independent?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks
Philip

You will find P2007 has many improved features over P2000 and can certainly
be used for your intended purposes. I might recommend establishing separate
MPP files for each of the projects which can then be placed into a Master.mpp
file showing all of them.

The links between the project, if any, can be established at the Master.mpp
level. If you intend to do that, please post back 'cause I have some more to
say to keep you safe.

Of course I don't know what you mean by "track" the projects, but the normal
interpretation is to monitor and establish dates, links, deadlines,
%Complete, resources, etc. P2007 will do all that and much more.

Download a free 60 day trial of P2007 from the microsoft website; I am sure
you will be satisified.
