Hi,
I am using MS Project Professional 2003 with Project Server 2003 and I have
an issue, I am assigning a task in my Project Schedule to Team member 'A' and
when publish this project then this same task is also showing in another Team
members 'B' Task list but I have not assign this task to Team member 'B'. I
don't know why in Team member 'B's Task list is showing this Team member ‘A’s
Tasks.
Please any one have idea why is happening, it will be very appreciated..

Thanks,
Rahul

At any point, was Team Member B assigned to this task and published? If so,
then the assignment would show under Team Member B but with an X next to the
assignment representing that it has been deleted. Let me know if this was
possibly the case.

Hi Jonathan,

Thanks for your response. Previously I was assign the task to Team Member B
but after in resceduling I have reassign this task to Team Member A but
still Team Member Bs Task list showing all previous task. How can I remove
this task from the task List.

Thanks,
Rahul

If you have deleted assignments showing on the resource task list, then I
believe the easiest way to get rid of the assignment is to have the resource
themselves highlight the assignment and click the "hide" button. This will
permanently hide the deleted assignment from their task list. Hopefully,
this is a viable solution for you.

Hi Jonathan,

Thank you very much for your valuable solution but I thought, If I
rescheduled my project plan and I reassigned some of the task to another Team
Member 'A' then One notification should goes to previous Team Member 'B' that
the task is deleted from his Task list and mark the project web access for
Team Member 'B' with a X in the first column of his Tasks list which were
reassigned to Team Member 'A'. In my case, it did not.
Am I thinking right ? I don't know. do you have idea?

Thanks,
Rahul

Rahul,

You are correct that when on a previously published project plan has a
resource exchanged on a task, then a deleted message goes to that old
resource as well as a new assignment message that goes out to the new
resource. In the plan when publishing, you should receive a message "An
update has not yet been sent to the resources who have been removed from
task assignments. An update with this information will be sent now."

Then the old resource will see the task with an X next to it and the new
resource will see the new assignment.

If that is not what you have experienced then I am not sure what might have
happened.

You might want to do a test again and see if you can get the system to
perform as expected above.
