Ms Word and Claris work vr.5

I have many files which was created by Claris work vr.5 on Mac with OS9. I
copied these files to new MacBook and installed MS office for MAC.
Can I open these files on MS Office word for MAC? I want to know how to
convert Claris work file to Ms word file.

Hi,

as far as I know, Word:mac cannot read Claris Works files; it *can* only
read AppleWorks 6 documents (Word v.X can; I'm not sure about Word 2004).
There is a commercial application called MacLink Plus which can take care of
the conversion, so depending on how many files you have, this might be worth

There is always the option of opening your files in Claris Works and then
saving them as RTF files, which Word can read without any problems.
